As we begin the 2021-22 hockey season, we would like to thank all of our volunteer coaches for your generosity and dedication to minor hockey. Coaching hockey is rewarding, but we do recognize all of the time and hard work that it takes.

Hockey Winnipeg Roster Submission

Head coaches or managers must complete and submit their official Hockey Winnipeg Roster (players, coaches and bench staff) by the following dates:

SJAMHA TeamSnap

SJAMHA has an association-wide TeamSnap plan that allows all SJAMHA teams to operate a premium TeamSnap page at a significantly reduced cost. TeamSnap allows managers, coaches and parents to manage their team’s roster, schedule and more with a convenient web based platform and app. The SJAMHA TeamSnap plan also facilitates management at the association level. Once your team roster is complete, your team’s TeamSnap page will be created for you and you will be invited to join. Please refrain from creating your own TeamSnap page as we would like all of our teams to operate under the SJAMHA TeamSnap plan. For assistance with TeamSnap, contact Vince at webmaster@sjamha.com

Hockey Manitoba Coaching Certification

Hockey Manitoba COACH 1, COACH 2, and CHECKING SKILLS 1 certification clinics are now available for registration. Clinics will be offered via Zoom for the 2021/22 season. View all coach certification clinic information. Certification must be complete by December 1.

SJAMHA Coach Meeting

The SJAMHA coaches meeting will take place at Sturgeon Heights CC on Tuesday Oct 26 at 7:30 pm for all U11, U9 and U7 teams including house league teams and at 8:30 pm for U13, U15 and U18 teams.

Hockey Winnipeg packages will be distributed as well as updates on procedure and policies that govern the 2021-22 hockey season.

To respect capacity limits, one coach per team is invited to attend.

Child Abuse Registry Check

New this season, all SJAMHA coaches, managers and safety representatives will need to complete a Child Abuse Registry check (CARC) prior to October 31. There is no cost for coaches, managers and safety reps to obtain a CARC. Child abuse registry forms will be emailed to coaches the week of October 18. Coaches are asked to distribute this form to their manager and safety rep. The hope is to have the completed forms returned at the coaches meeting on October 26. Hard copies of the form will also be available at this meeting. Completed CARC forms can also be dropped off at Allard Arena on October 27. Note: Coaches will need identification to verify their forms.

Hockey Winnipeg Regular Season Schedule Release

The U9A1-U18 Hockey Winnipeg Schedule release is expected by October 27. U7 and U9 House League Schedule will be communicated by VP House League Mike Demdiuk asap.

SJAMHA Ice Draft

The U9A10-U18 Ice Draft will take place online Thursday October 28.  An online meeting link will be shared with coaches shortly. VP House League Mike Demdiuk will be in touch regarding U7 and U9 House League Ice times.
